I am not a Sun person.

I am not a Sun person.

I am not a Sun person.

Her wicked heat scorches my pale skin,

Leaving behind a red blanket across my exposed flesh.

I am not a Sun person.

She burns brightly in the sky unapologetically being Her,

While I hide away day after day within the confines of my room.

I am not a Sun person.

Sun illuminates a contagious happiness,

When all I wish to do is wallow in self turmoil a while longer.

I am not a Sun person.

Every once in awhile the afternoon light plays on my skin,

And I can feel Sun trying to love me, give me Her warmth.

I am not a Sun person.

Yet sometimes Her gentle touch makes it feel as if I am not quite human anymore,

Lingering between the kisses of Her rays where heaven and earth collide.
